A U.S. promoter, Blue Note Entertainment Group, will begin offering music-themed package tours to Cuba this spring and summer. The itineraries include “City & Countryside,” which “spotlights Havana’s urban life with a side trip to the countryside,” a historical island tour called “Cuba Past & Present” and a “Havana Weekend” package for those in a hurry. The initiative is part of a new music travel division at Blue Note, which owns the B.B. Kings Blue Club and the Highline Ballroom in New York. The trips are in conjunction with Cultural Island Travel, which has been taking groups down there since 1999.
